Update on our latest pango-pup:

The first few days were difficult because he would not eat. We gave him kittymilk so he would get all the necessary nutrients in his body and kept trying to feed him in the forest.

After 3 days, he pooped for the first time! After that, things went better. Apparently he was feeling miserable due to constipation caused by dehydration after being caught.

He is picking up weight and it seems like his digestive problems have disappeared!

#Update Pangolin pup: when pangolins come in, they are often scared and traumatized. All this disappears after a few days, once they realise they are in good hands.

If they would still be with their mothers, their would climb onto her back /tail and ride along. At the sanctuary, pups imitate this behaviour by climbing onto a high point on our bodies, usually our shoulders or hands/arms.

Then they relax...β™₯️

Please donate, so we can help more animals!

This is our latest rescue: a 438g weighing baby White-bellied pangolin... With #WorldPangolinDay2019 just 4 days away, any donation towards the sanctuary to continue to rescue these beautiful animals is greatly appreciated!

We need to walk them in the forest several times a day so they can forage for ants and termites. Some come in terribly injured and need special treatment.

All of them are victims of the bushmeat trade. Pangolins are under CITES 1 and receive full protection by law. It is illegal to catch, kill, sell and transport them. Unfortunately, in Liberia, they are considered "Sweet Meat", making them a local delicacy. Their numbers are going down rapidly and extinction is around the corner...πŸ’” This pangolin makes number 27 in our list of pangolin rescues: 23 White-Bellied Pangolins and 4 Black-bellied pangolins. Please help us, so we can help them! πŸ™πŸΌ

This baby forest buffalo just entered the sanctuary... She is about 4 months old, her mother was killed and her face is full of scars. This big baby still needs A LOT of milk! Not any milk will do, she needs special milk just for livestock / ruminants. This type of milk can not be found in Liberia. We have to buy it abroad and have it sent to Liberia, making every bottle very expensive...

So any donation is very much appreciated and will help us get this boy back on track!

Thank you!

In this basket, was a serpent eagle, ready to be sold. He also had a rope tied around his wing... He was confiscated by authorities and was brought to the sanctuary and is now recovering from his terrible ordeal! πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…

Our fundraiser ends next week. So there are 7 more days to support our campaign! πŸ˜‰

These extra funds will be used to cover some of the costs of feeding our ever growing group of monkeys. It would give us a break in constantly making ends meet at the end of the month.

All our monkeys are orphans and were rescued from the illegal bushmeat and pet trade in Liberia.

Please help us give them the nutritious diet they so desperately need and deserve!

Thank You!

Julie
