Hi guys! This is me, Earl Joy Baton. For most, you may have known me as a mother of 3, and a hardworking online seller. :) March of this year, I was diagnosed with a type of cancer of the lymphatic system called 'Hodgkins lymphoma', it turned my world, upside down. I was devastated, what will happen to my children? I don't want to die. I'm still too young. The doctor said, I will have to undergo chemotherapy and then radiation to get rid of the tumor and cancer cells growing inside my body. Where will I get the money to undergo chemotherapy session that has to be done every 2-weeks? I never thought I'd make it but by faith and by miracle of those helping hands who were always there to support me, I did it!

I was able to complete all 9 sessions of my chemotherapy! I am so thankful and blessed for all your support and help. Words aren't enough, my prayer warriors you were amazing! What I went through wasn't easy, there were a lot of blood (literal), tears and suffering. I lost count how many needles have to poke my arms and hands. I was even in a near-death moment right after my 1st chemo session. My immune system wasn't prepared and had taken the fall bad. I was in the emergency room just a week after my 1st chemo. I acquired pneumonia, my wbc and rbc dropped so low I had to undergo blood transfusion to keep me alive. My doctor said I was lucky, if it was someone else, they would have died. But no, not me, I am a fighter, I always was and I always will be. I will never give up hope, I will never give up my faith, I will never give up my life for my family needs me.

And so, 9 cycles later, I'm proud to say I've completed first phase of my treatment for cancer. I've completed my chemotherapy sessions! All 9 of them! And so, I am now once again, knocking on your hearts to ask for help. You were all amazing people who were with me from day 1 up until now. I wouldn't impose on to anyone to help, and I will appreciate any kind of help you might be able to extend.

Right now, I am for medical evaluation to see how the tumor and my cancer cells were responding to my treatment. I need to take a series of laboratory and ct scan procedure before we (me and my doctors) can proceed to radiation planning. The good news is the tumor is shrinking and I am gaining weight! My oncologist, Dr. Ma. Noemi Uy, said this is a positive response.

Initially the tumor was around 16 cm (May 22, 2019), the 2nd xray result showed a decrease on its mediastinal measurement now about 10.7 cm (as of June 14), and the most recent xray I've had last August showed a significant decrease of the mass measuring now 7.5 cm. This was 3 months ago, after my 4th chemo cycle. We haven't done any xray test as of now after completing my chemo treatment.

My doctor have given me a list of things/laboratory p before having a chest and whole abdomen scan to check on my tumor. (Doctor's request is below). She requested that I complete all of these before the 9th of December (which will mark 1 month after completing chemo), since the cancer cells might grow in numbers again if we delay doing this. After which we proceed to planning for my radiation treatment.

Now my problem lies in funding for these procedures, I have asked for a quote from CDUH where I've started my treatment, the ct scan for chest and whole abdomen will require around 35 thousand pesos. That's excluding all the laboratory tests I have to have too. This is why I really need extra help from you guys for me to gather this amount for me to continue with my fight against cancer.

There's also the radiation therapy which will cost around 30 thousand pesos (estimate since planning haven't been done yet, this will come after ct scan procedure). I don't have a health insurance. I've reached out to PCSO - Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (they've helped me with my chemo drugs before), but as of now CDUH aren't accepting vouchers from them due to unpaid balances. Governor's office/PSWD have run out of funds since September and DSWD, I have to gather some requirements which may take up to 3months waiting for my request to be approved.

We're halfway there, I'm half way there. Despite all the challenges, the Lord never fail me. Not once. I was one breath shy of death but He never let me go. I'm happy I am alive and will continue to honor the life I was given. But I needed your help, to be 100% again. 1% is okay, any amount or any form. By gathering all of your 1%, we can add this up and make it 100. Please be with me. This Christmas season, aside from world peace, and happiness for everyone else, may I ask for your 1%? Below pic is me, just 2 chemo cycles when I've lost most of my hair so I have to shave it, and after pic is now. :) After completing 9 chemo cycles.

So, for an idea how much the radiation cost here's the breakdown the hospital gave me. And I still have blood test and other laboratory procedures that needs to be done.

Please, help me extend my life. I'm having breathing problems now and it scares because the last time this was the complication that made me go to the ICU. It's scary. I want to live a longer life for my.kids help me reach that goal. And I will be forever indebted to you. Thank you so much.

It has been more than a year now when we started this journey. A lot of things happened, last March 2020 I was supposed to continue with radiation but Covid happened. And due to lockdown restrictions, I wasn't able to continue with my treatment, then came Lauv, my beautiful miracle. . . . .
