Support All Women Expedition To Antarctica!

Hello! My name is Atiqah Tamarun.

I am a young Malaysian Women, passionate into extreme sport and challenging expedition to test my limit as women empowerment. Over the past two years, i have gone through the national selection from around Malaysia for All Women Expedition To Antarctica (AWETA) in December 2019. From physical activities such as extreme fitness test, pulling weighted tyre for 100 KM for ten days! and living inside Snow World with minus 12 degree for a week.

Let me show you some pictures of my challenges and training.

In February 2019, i have successfully completed a simulation training in Norway as a mandatory requirement set by the Antarctica Authority to measure the fitness level and survival skills for the actual expedition in Antarctica. Trained by the experienced trainer Guinness World Record holder - Hannah McKeand, the training has covered all aspects including Skiing, Camping, Navigation and extreme weather survival skill.

Now let me tell you briefly about mission and objectives of my expedition. AWETA is a mission aims at seeking protégés to our very own Polar Expeditor (DR) Hjh Sharifah Mazlina Abd Kadir. The secondary objective of the mission is to go to the Antarctica & retrieve the time capsule which was planted by (Dr) Sharifah during her 1st expedition to Antarctica in 2004. The time capsule contains a message by the then Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Three women has been selected for this mission and we will be setting a new record for the first Asean Women Group to cross Antarctica.

This is where I need your help! This expedition will be life changing and the experience and skills that I will gain will help me to pursue my passion and helps to complete the national mission.
