Support the "PsiloSoma Project": Unveiling the Secrets of Psychedelic Fungi

Abstract: "PsiloSoma Project"is embarking on a groundbreaking journey to explore the mystical world of psychedelic fungi. Led by esteemed naturalist Dr. Fabio Mao Valletta, this independent research project aims to uncover the hidden treasures of these enigmatic organisms. Through a blend of scientific inquiry, cultural exploration, and environmental conservation, PsiloSoma seeks to shed light on the therapeutic, ecological, and ethnomyocological dimensions of psychedelic fungi.

Introduction: Psychedelic fungi have captivated human imagination for centuries, yet their true essence remains veiled in mystery. PsiloSoma is driven by a passion to unravel the mysteries surrounding these fascinating organisms and unlock their potential for humanity.

Objectives:

  1. Journey into the Unknown: Conduct daring field expeditions to remote corners of the globe in search of psychedelic fungi, documenting their habitats and cultural significance along the way.
  2. Unraveling Nature's Secrets: Employ cutting-edge laboratory techniques to analyze the taxonomy, chemistry, and biological activity of collected fungal specimens, revealing their hidden properties.
  3. Cultural Odyssey: Engage with indigenous communities and cultural experts to delve into the rich tapestry of traditions, beliefs, and rituals associated with psychedelic fungi, preserving and celebrating cultural heritage.
  4. Sharing the Wisdom: Share our discoveries with the world through peer-reviewed publications, captivating documentaries, educational materials, and enlightening public lectures, fostering scientific literacy and cultural appreciation.
  5. Guardians of Nature: Champion the cause of environmental conservation and sustainability, advocating for the responsible stewardship of psychedelic fungi and their ecosystems.

Methodology: PsiloSoma will embark on an exhilarating journey spanning continents and cultures, combining fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and ethnographic study to uncover the secrets of psychedelic fungi. Our team of passionate researchers will leave no stone unturned in our quest for knowledge and enlightenment.

Resources Required: PsiloSoma requires funding to support field expeditions, laboratory analysis, ethnographic research, publication, and outreach efforts. Your generous contributions will fuel our expedition and enable us to make groundbreaking discoveries that benefit humanity and the planet.

Project Phases:

  1. Embarking on the Expedition: Launch preliminary field expeditions to identify research sites and establish partnerships with local communities and research institutions.
  2. Venturing into the Wilderness: Conduct extensive fieldwork to collect fungal specimens and ecological data from diverse ecosystems around the world.
  3. Unveiling Nature's Secrets: Analyze collected specimens in state-of-the-art laboratories to unravel their taxonomy, chemistry, and biological activity.
  4. Exploring Cultural Landscapes: Immerse ourselves in the rich cultural tapestry of indigenous communities, documenting their traditions, beliefs, and rituals associated with psychedelic fungi.
  5. Sharing the Journey: Share our discoveries with the world through peer-reviewed publications, captivating documentaries, educational materials, and enlightening public lectures.

Crowdfunding Campaign: PsiloSoma invites you to join us on this extraordinary journey of discovery. Your support will enable us to explore uncharted territories, unlock the secrets of psychedelic fungi, and share our findings with the world. Together, we can illuminate the path to a deeper understanding of nature, culture, and consciousness.

Conclusion: PsiloSoma is not just a research project; it's a quest for truth, enlightenment, and connection. By supporting our crowdfunding campaign, you become a vital part of this epic journey, contributing to the advancement of science, conservation, and cultural understanding. Join us as we embark on this daring adventure into the heart of the unknown.

Hello everyone, I'm Dr. Naturalist Fabio Mao Valletta. I'm the mentor, research director, coordinator and promoter of the the PsiloSoma research and divulgation project, that aims to contribute to fulfill the lack of knowledge of the Psilocybe genus and the so called “magic mushrooms” species. Since 2005, I've been conducting independent research with a naturalistic, ethnobotanical and mycological approach observing and studying environments, ecosystems and related human cultures in the three continents around the Mediterranean region and the rest of the globe.

Our planet is rich in wild psycoactive mushrooms specimens, findings, datas and materials that merit further ethnomycological, taxonomic, biogeographical and biochemical studies as well as possible medicinal/pharmaceutical and bio-remedial applications. Thanks to self-supported researches, and by the contributions of collaborators and donors, I'm investigating, sampling and mapping the global psychoactive fungal diversity, local strains, distribution, biocompounds, as well the ethnomycological uses knowed or witnessed in artefacts, cultures and mythologies of the past and current civilizations. The first research related to these studies has recently been published ( https://doi.org/10.6093/2724-4393/10411) and I am editing other scientific publications about Italian, Spanish and Portuguese entheogenic mushroom distribution and uses. Currently the observed specimens are shared into the platform “Inaturalist” within the “psilosoma project” and I am carrying out exploring mission to observe and to sample specimens to study in herbarium collections about the Mediterranean indolic forests and mountains. I am using a car, as moving lab with few equipment and materials to be able to carry out some of the goals of the "PsiloSoma project".

I wish that this fundraising campaign will contribute to achieve and boost further interesting results and publications, as well, to build up a more equipped moving lab and a working team with others micophyles and professionals, so that, while realizing observations, collecting and examining samples, we can perform other exploring missions, chemical analysis and divulge some interesting data, such as videos, pictures, documents, maps, trails, bivouacs, and events.
Thank you and Mush love Dr. Fabio Mao Valletta
