Campaign Story
Cho Mar desperately needs an operation to remove the cancerous tumor on her right breast. This Burmese mother of two little boys needs surgery to save her life.
The tumor is aggressive and Cho Mar is suffering constant pain, but cancer hasn't spread to other parts of her body yet. Doctors in Phuket, Thailand, where they have lived for decades, say she has a strong chance of recovery with the proper treatment. But they are living in poverty without income and due to Covid, the local community hasn't been able to raise funds to save her life.
Cho Mar needs life-saving surgery soon or she will die. Her babies need her. Can you help?
Cho Mar recently had a biopsy, and the results are expected soon. We hope to have enough raised so Vachira Phuket Hospital will schedule the vital operation. Time is running out and the sooner Cho Mar has the treatment, the higher her chances of living to see her children grow up. Her husband, who is 50-years-old, does his best to look after the whole family. He can't go to his construction job because Cho Mar needs help caring for the children. Now she can't lift or hold them and needs to get a lot of rest. This has put a more considerable strain on an already impossible situation. Even the baby and toddler are quiet and seem to sense the tragic circumstances around them.
We aim to raise 100,00 baht for the surgery and follow-up care, including chemotherapy or radiation and financial support for the family.
We met the family at their basic concrete home in Phuket, Thailand, after a local woman asked us to help while giving out weekly food rations for vulnerable people in the community.
We learned the couple's first son is two years old. When Cho Mar was pregnant with his brother, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She declined treatment putting the unborn baby's wellbeing first. The couple have lived in Thailand for 22 years.
We know you've already given to people in need in your own community and perhaps even your own family. So it is with much hope that we ask you to please open your hearts again and more than ever to help a mother of two beautiful little boys who have no idea how their lives are about to be blessed by the love of complete strangers.
A dedicated account has been opened in the name of Amornsak Khanijow. Every dollar counts and even if you can spare $5, it would be deeply appreciated. Even little bit counts! Blessings and thank you for your kindness!
