Hello. My name is Anetta and I'm a cat rescuer based in Moscow, Russia. In my country the government does nothing to improve the situation with homeless animals, and thanks to independent rescuers like me, poor souls have a chance to be saved. I've helped more than 100 abused, sick, abandoned, feral and stray cats so far. I took them off the street, treated and placed into forever homes. It's a very hard job that requires a lot of time, money, emotional strength and sacrifice...And I don’t get paid for doing it.

Elvis was a stray cat whom I rescued on a cold December day when he was freezing in the snow. His life was absolutely miserable and he faced a lot of cruelty from people. After I got him into my care, I gave him a promise that he would never ever suffer again and that I would find him the best loving forever home.

I put a lot of effort to make him start trusting people. He was neutered, vaccinated and doing just great. And when he was ready for adoption, suddenly he got very sick...He refused to eat, had trouble walking, was lethargic and had a bad abdominal swelling caused by accumulation of massive amounts of fluid. After various blood tests, exams and ultrasounds he was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a deadly disease that causes inflammation throughout the body. I was absolutely devastated and couldn't believe his fate was sealed…😭

My vet told me he had only several days to live. BUT, there was one thing that could cure him - an innovative and very expensive foreing medicine. This drug must be injected daily for the consecutive 84 days to achieve full recovery.

As I'm not someone who would give up without fighting, I decided to do whatever I could to save this boy, who didn't want to die. I placed Elvis into the hospital, purchased a few vials of the drug and let the vets began treatment to see if there's going to be any response. After the first injection he started feeling better! It literally brought him back to life! 🙏 It was like a miracle! I was able to cover 34 days of treatment. Elvis' condition was improving day by day, and now he eats well and has energy.

But, unfortunately, I can't continue such an expensive treatment. I simply can't afford it.😔 I have other cats in my care as well and expenses are high. The donations I receive from my friends and local supporters are not enough...

So, here I am, kindly asking all animal lovers to help Elvis complete the course of treatment 🙏 There are 50 more days to go. The costs of the vials of medicine is about 2000 euros, and hospital stay fee is about 2400 euros. Elvis has to stay in the vet hospital to ensure that he receives the best possible care and correct monitoring for a response until the full recovery. The treatment has to be monitored with repeated blood tests.

Elvis and I declared war against his desease. But without having the funds to buy the medicine, we won't be able to win it…He is an amazing young cat and he deserves enjoying a happy long life after all the nightmares he had to go through while surviving on the street. I can't let him pass away from FIP just because of no money...

Every donation and every share means the world 🙏

Here's my Instagram page @anetta.k.s where you can check out my rescue work and follow the progress of Elvis. I post regular updates and I'm always open to communication and happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you so much in advance 🙏♥️

Anetta

PS I commit to only spend money raised for the purpose of buying the medicine and covering vet bills and nothing else.
