I Want a College Degree

Hi,

My name is Erik, I live in Mexico and I recently graduated high school. I want to be able to study a degree on psychology on one of the top schools here in Mexico so I can live my passion of helping others through their hardships and helping them become the best version of themselves since life isn't always so forgiving on the vast majority of people. The issue lies on the fact that it is not an affordable college (as any other top University) and my family isn't keen on helping me get a degree.

I want you to know a little about me and my situation. Ever since I was a kid, me and my brothers have been raised on pretty rough circumstances, out parents have always been very physically and emotionally abusive, this of course has affected us on every aspect of life. Nowadays the abuse comes in emotional and financial form, they use money as a leverage to keep us where they want us and always insult/demean our efforts and emotions. And I'm no special case, with statistics showing nearly 53% of the Mexican population experience some sort of domestic abuse at some point in their lives.

Despite that I want to progress in life, I want to be able to study and chase my dreams, make a life of my own, and most importantly be happy, and through my career make other people happy too.

I've had important people in my life that pushed me to try a fundraiser page and share my story and hopefully with a little kindness from you I could realize those dreams. Though I don't expect things to come easy or given to me just like that, I'm also job hunting with whatever experience I have to be able to save up and try to get myself going on this path.

As you probably know the situation on Mexico hasn't always been easy, and right now it's gotten progressively worse, with thousands of people getting cut from jobs due to many corporations moving to other countries and the government cutting a lot of resources. So I can't do this on my own, I understand everyone has their own issues to take care of, but it would mean the world to me if you could help me with anything to reach my goal no matter how little.
