Campaign Story
Hello everyone! We're trying to raise as much money as we can for the medical treatment, lab tests, consultations, maintenance and other expenses of our cousin Dyna Bermudez, who suffers from a rare neurological disorder called chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).
CIDP is characterized by the inflammation of nerve roots and peripheral nerves and destruction of the fatty protective covering (myelin sheath) over the nerves. This affects how fast the nerve signals are transmitted and leads to loss of nerve fibers. This causes weakness, paralysis and/or impairment in motor function, especially of the arms and legs (limbs). Sensory disturbance may also be present. The motor and sensory impairments usually affect both sides of the body (symmetrical), and the degree of severity and the course of disease may vary from case to case. Some affected individuals may follow a slow steady pattern of symptoms while others may have symptoms that stabilize and then relapse. CIDP, by definition has ongoing symptoms for over 8 weeks and usually does not improve unless ongoing treatment is given. Dyna is an engineer and a traveller, but has to take a temporary leave just when her career is at its peak so she can focus on her healing. She has been having serious trouble doing simple tasks such as maintaining balance and posture while walking, sitting down, or standing up; writing; eating; and at times even speaking (unfortunately she also has asthma and doctors are doing their best to avoid respiratory failure). She has been in and out of the hospital regularly as medical professionals continue to monitor her condition and recovery. These times are difficult, both emotionally and financially, for her and her family, and we ask, to the best of your capacity, that you support Dyna and her family to cover the medical expenses and help her leave CIDP behind.
Dyna's mother, Digna Bermudez, is the chosen beneficiary of this campaign. All proceeds will be given to her to best support Dyna and her whole family. You can donate to this campaign or you can deposit your cash donations on her mother's bank account:
Bank: BPI
Account #: 0579 2438 21

We would truly appreciate whatever amount you could provide from the deepest of your hearts, but if monetary contribution is beyond your capacity, you could still help us by sharing this link to your friends, family, and the rest of the community. We thank you for sparing your time, energy, and effort in helping this amazing person we know.
God bless you all.
