Campaign Story
Our sister, Jeachel Hernan, is a 19-year old girl and the youngest among six siblings. She is taking up Hospitality Management at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and supposed to be graduating next year. Unfortunately, she had to stop because of her health condition.
On March 2017, blood was found on her stool. First diagnosis, it was hemorrhoid. After 2 weeks of medication, the bleeding stopped. But after some time, there was blood on her stool again.
On June 2017, she had a CT scan and was diagnosed on having a sigmoid mass on her colon. It's a rare case since she’s still young. Doctors said that it’s their first time seeing a 19 year old with a sigmoid mass.
They wanted to do colonoscopy but they couldn't because her hemoglobin was low. She started taking EPO every week but her hemoglobin kept decreasing.
On July 2017, doctors told us she needed surgery as soon as possible. So, last August 01, 2017, my sister underwent Hartmann's procedure, removing the sigmoid mass in her colon and bringing one end of her large intestines out through an opening (stoma) made in the abdominal wall. THE OPERATION WAS SUCCESSFUL!!!
However, since her sigmoid mass is huge, about the size of newborn's head, her surgeon said that it is possible that it is cancerous. If it is, she would undergo chemotherapy for the next months.
Now, doctors are focusing on regaining her health and her hemoglobin is now increasing with the help of the medicines given to her. Once her body has fully recovered from the first surgery, she will have another surgery to reattach the ends of the large intestine.
We are asking for your help on our sister's surgery. We would be forever grateful for any support that you can give and we believe that God will repay your kindness.
Love,
Hernan

I have been aware of this because of Lovelyz Philippines who is helping on gathering people to donate funds for this cause. And seeing her story, and now knowing that she is a fellow PUPian. I am more than willing to help shell out some funds to this cause. Will definitely send out prayers to her.

I know this girl kasi kaagaw namin yung grupo nila sa salamin kapag magppraktis ng sayaw nung The League days ko. Haha. She looks really nice and cheerful. I hope she gets well soon. I will include her fast recovery in my prayers.
