Campaign Story
PMGY’s Medical volunteers program in India offers a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand experience and insight into the Indian health care system. Unfortunately the majority of the indian population still experience poor health. This is due to a lack of awareness on health issues and the simple fact that many Indians cannot afford regular, if any, medical treatment. In India, there is a lack of health education and access to medical help is often difficult. This is especially so in the slum areas. PMGY periodically run free medical camps in slum communities around Faridabad.
During my time in india I will be placed in medical camps in the slum communities, local clinics and throughout a network of hospitals. I will be required to take patient measurements, checking vital signs and treating minor wounds under the supervision of the local doctors.
I am staying in New Delihi for four weeks with the PMGY volunteering group. The over all cost of my trip will be $2164. Im hoping to raise $500 to go towards my trip!
Every dollar counts!
