Campaign Story
Hi! My name is Teresa, I'm a pediatrician and I'm raising funds for a patient of mine named Nate Paras. This little bundle of joy is the long-awaited youngest son of my friends Cricket and Buddy Paras. After years of waiting, they finally got news that Tres was going to be a kuya. Despite all care and preparations, Nate decided to make his entrance into the world about 3 weeks early. Even if he looked like a "gentle giant", much the same as his Kuya Tres, he soon developed problems that preterms sometimes face: his blood sugar went down, he started breathing fast; after a few days, he developed a murmur, which turned out to be a heart condition called patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Each day brings in new problems from Nate; I choose to think of it as another day closer to Nate going home to his Nanay and Tatay. Right now, the costs of the hospitalization of both Nate's Nanay and Nate at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has eaten into their budget and savings. Because I cannot guarrantee when he will go home, it becomes important especially to raise money to help defray expenses on their part. Added to this, Kuya Tres will be going to school in June. Any amount we raise would go a long way into helping the family, but for now, we're targetting Php 500,000 (which in a NICU setting is probably a drop in the bucket). So please donate, share this page, encourage your friends to participate. Thank you so much and God bless you! Should you need additional information, please don't hesitate to contact me (Tere Ribano on Facebook or thru [email protected]) or Nate's Nanay (Cricket Viray Paras on Facebook).
UPDATE: Just to ease everyone's mind, when you click on the donate button, the fund doesn't go to me. No money (unless given to me directly) ever crosses my hands. They go directly to Cricket and Buddy. Also, if you want to give via direct deposit, please feel free to contact me thru email or Cricket thru FB so we can give you the account details.

Home is in sight!
Update posted by Tere Ribano at 08:34 amSo after so many days of waiting and praying and hoping... we have an end to treatment in sight! I won't say just yet when...but it's very near. We're doing our checks and finishing our medications. Nate is improving beautifully. Thank you so much for your care and prayers.
Nate at Day 14
Update posted by Tere Ribano at 08:49 pmI apologize for not being able to update but we've been a bit busy. Since we started this campaign, Nate has not gotten better. He started on the road to getting better, getting his fast breathing down, not being too yellow and feeding well. Then one day...he just starts breathing. . . . .

Thank you very much for all the help and prayers. They really mean a lot to our family. May the Lord bless you a million fold all the days of your life. May the good karma that you have passed on to us return to you in multiple form. We appreciate all of you and are deeply humbled by your generosity.
