Campaign Story
Serbia, located in South-East Europe has one of the largest population of street animals, mostly street dogs. It is estimated that there are around 100 000 street dogs in Serbia in a country that has 7 000 000 inhabitants.
More than 2000 people get serious injures in street dog attacks, and more than 1500 street dogs get poisoned or killed in car traffic accidents.
There is a place for everyone under the Sun, and solar shelter wants to collect money for opening a sustainable solar animal shelter. The money from the donations would be used to buy and install solar panels. The shelter is ready to sign an agreement with an electricity company to produce and sell energy to it and to fund animal shelter for the animals and to invest in further growing of the shelter.
With the initial donation, shelter could take care of up to 5000 street dogs within one year, and further 2000 for each next year.
If the project gets funds, each sponsor gets customized postcard from the shelter with the picture of his own and unique pet he helped. This pet will get named by one of his sponsors.
