Campaign Story
My brother Niño has been battling gout for more than two decades now, and has been hospitalised twice for gouty arthritis. In 2014 this got a turn for the worse, his mobility became limited and by 2018 he became bed bound. This has led to fused joints in his neck and hips, so he has long been unable to stand or walk, greatly affecting his health.
Last Sunday, March 12, we had to bring him to the hospital after noticing he was lethargic and unresponsive. It was then discovered that he had suffered from Myocardial Infarction (heart attack) and had to be admitted to the nearest ICU at ACE Medical Hospital. We are grateful to the team of doctors who have been monitoring him. He is still intubated at the moment but we are hoping he is stable enough to be transferred to the government hospital. There have been other diagnoses, including a rare blood disorder which needs to be given attention to.
Being in the ICU also meant that over the past few days, the expenses have begun to rack up. Our Tatay passed away 25 years ago, and on 2020, we lost both Nanay Sylvia and Kuya Lemuel. We have our sister-in-law who is also raising our two nieces, so it’s just Nino and I left in our immediate family. We have already received help from family members and friends and have started with the requirements needed for government assistance as well as from other organizations. Even with all these, the expense is just too steep for it to be enough. The hospital bill so far has already reached more than 300k, with other tests still pending. Our goal is to be able to reach at least Php 500,000 to cover the bill and extra necessary medications.
My family and I are reaching out to ask for help to augment our funds. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
Please say a prayer for Niño, too. We hope that he will be able to come home soon.
God bless and thank you very much, your help is going a long way.
Ada

Niño has already been transferred to the ICU of a government hospital. He is still intubated, as there breathing on his own is still difficult. His x-ray revealed an enlarged heart and blood tests point to a disorder that may be detrimental if left unchecked. Though Niño is better (he. . . . .
