49km Birthday Run for Hospice Malta, The Richmond Foundation and RMHC (Malta)

Long story short
Please support and help me raise € 1,575 by Wednesday 21 July 2021 - proceeds will be split equally between three local charities - Hospice Malta, The Richmond Foundation and RMHC (Malta); my part of the deal is to run (and walk) 49 kilometers on my birthday Sunday 18 July 2021.

Although I have been running for over 15 years, the only time I raised money was for The Red Cross at the 2012 Virgin London Marathon. I have decided to pursue this fundraiser to coincide with my 49th birthday to assess my ability to mobilise family and friends to assist me accomplish this interim goal. If I am successful in collecting more than € 1,575 this year, my objective for next year, when I turn 50, would be a project over a number of weeks / months to fundraise a larger amount.

A little bit about the three charities I am raising money for this week:

Hospice Malta exists to provide and promote the highest standards of Palliative care for persons with cancer, motor neuron disease, end of life respiratory, cardiac, renal and liver disease. It also aims to help and support their families.

The Richmond Foundation offers all-round support to anyone experiencing mental health problems and the people who live and work with them. Their goal is to ensure that those living with mental health problems live fulfilling lives in a community that accepts and understands them.

RMHC (Malta)'s mission is to create, fund and support projects that result in tangible improvements in the health and well-being of children, and by extension their families, by supporting them in overcoming their challenges, enriching their lives and achieving their full potential.
