30.30 Project: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Healthcare is a human right.

Join Ryan Lewis' family, Macklemore, and CfC to provide access to affordable healthcare worldwide. It's called the 30/30 Project.   A Message from Ryan Lewis   A huge part of what's made me who I am, is something I haven't talked about in interviews. If I could just take a few moments of your time, I'd love to tell you about the strongest woman that I know, my mom, Julie Lewis. In 1984, my mom gave birth to my older sister, Teresa. Due to a complicated delivery, she needed a blood transfusion and at that moment, my mom had HIV+ blood put into her body. When she was finally diagnosed, she was given only a few years to live. By that time, she had already given birth to my sister Laura and me. We each had a 25% chance of being born HIV+, but we were extremely fortunate (today, the risk of a mother passing HIV to her baby is 2% or less if she is taking medication). Thanks to advanced medicine and healthcare available here in the U.S., my mom has lived despite her odds. To honor the thirty years my mom has been a survivor, our family is raising funds to build health centers worldwide that will stand strong for at least thirty years. We're calling it the 30/30 Project. We are partnering with Construction for Change, a Seattle-based nonprofit, to carry out construction. And we have local partners on the ground, such as Partners in Health, to run and operate the health facilities  long-term. We want to give hope to women and families in other parts of the world who lack access to quality, affordable healthcare. With this amazing past year I've had, I am honored to be the first donor for the 30/30 Project, jumpstarting the construction of the first health center in Malawi. I am asking you to join my family and see how far we can take this... What We Need We need $100,000 USD to complete the first phase of the project: a health center in Nsambe, in the Neno District of Malawi, a place where 1 in 10 people are HIV+. The facility will be run and operated by our local counterparts, Partners in Health, Abwenzi Pa Za Umoyo, and Malawi's Ministry of Health. If we exceed our $100,000 goal, you guessed it, we will build even more health facilities worldwide. These are the first five phases where the money will go...

Phase 1: A non-profit health center in Neno District, Malawi for PIH Price: $100,000 USD

Phase 2: A non-profit clinic in Kangundo, Kenya for Kizimani Price: $100,000 USD

Phase 3: A non-profit clinic in Mbita, Kenya for Med25 International Price: $70,000 USD

Phase 4: A non-profit clinic in Ugenya, Kenya for Matibabu Foundation Price: $75,000 USD

Phase 5: A health training center in Nakaseke, Uganda for ACCESS

Price: $125,000 USD

*The Impact Let's talk big picture. With your help, the 30/30 Project will be huge... What would 30 new health centers worldwide look like? Access to comprehensive healthcare for roughly 600,000 people (almost equal to the population of Seattle)!

Other Ways To Give Some of you can't give financially, but you can still help:   Ask folks to spread the word and make some noise about the 30/30 Project Share our story on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, your blog or anywhere, really...
