2Orange tracks all the latest consumer technology breakthroughs and variety shows you what’s new, what matters, and how technology can enrich your life. We give you the information, tools, and advice that will help you decide what to buy and how to get the most out of the tech in your life.
Every time we publish something online, whether it's a news article, blog post, podcast, video, or even a user comment, we open ourself up to potential legal liability. This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise because the Internet, after all, is available to anyone who wishes to connect to the network, and even the smallest blog or most obscure discussion forum has the potential to reach hundreds of millions of people throughout the world. Often the legal risks are small, but not always. The risks we could face when we publish online can take a number of forms, depending on what and how we publish. The sections that follow are not intended to make us an expert on media law, but merely to help we identify potential "red flags" so that when we publish something that might result in liability, we know to be extra careful and will take the necessary steps to minimize our potential legal risks.
