On June the 6th this year, Luke was returning home from a late night shift from work. Travelling along a back road on his way home, he was rounding a right hand corner, admittedly a bit faster than he should have been going, when his front left tyre blew. With the speed and the loss of steering due to the blown tyre he flipped the car multiple times.

He had to be cut free from the wreckage of the car, and an officer at the scene commented that he doesn't know how Luke was still alive, so extensive were his injuries.
He was immediately airlifted in a critical condition to the Perth Royal Hospital. Luke was in a coma by the time he landed in Perth.
His injuries were that he suffered an axis fracture of the c2 vertebrae in his neck, a vertical compression in c4 and a compression flexion in c7. In other words he has broken his neck and back in 3 places. He also suffered a broken leg (compound fracture) when the car crushed him into his seat.
He also has lacerations and bruising ranging from mild to severe.
Luke has had to endure 3 operations to date to have a plate and screws on his c2 (neck) and also he has had to have c3 and c5 vertebrae fused. His leg has now got plate and screws to assist the healing of that compound fracture.
Luke has more operations ahead of him yet, but the prognosis is that he will be a quadriplegic for the rest of his life.
Luke is only 21 years old and has a loving partner and 3 little children under the age of 5. Carly, his partner is unable to work at this time due to her own reasons and they relied solely on Luke's income.
Six weeks before the accident they had been handed the keys to their first home, their dream home. The family` have been struggling ever since to help pay the mortgage so they do not lose their home that they worked so hard for.
We are now trying to raise money to have the house altered to be more user friendly for a wheelchair and to get an electric bed for Luke so that Carly can move Luke up and down easier.
Luke is also currently seeking counselling as all he wants to do is die. He feels like he is nothing now and will never be able to work again or play with his three little children like a normal father.
They psychologist says these feelings will pass as soon as Luke accepts his new set of circumstances life has dealt him.
Yes Luke was going to fast when he rounded the bend and he has learnt his lesson the hard way,but we only ask that out of the goodness of your hearts if you can help us support Luke and his family. We  don't ask for much, but what we do receive will   be a blessing indeed.
Out of respect for Luke his photo is not shown... Please if you can find it in your hearts to help out we will be eternally grateful.
Thank you and God Bless
