Michael King has been selected to represent the voice of the youth from around the worldin the cast of the musical, 2050 – The Future We Want, which will be staged in Geneva,Switzerland, at the UN’s Palais de Nations on September 3rd 2013. The rehearsals will beheld from August 19th till the day of the performance.He has been selected among hundreds of applicants based on his musical talent and thepassion he has shown for the key issues covered in this musical. As the musical is set inthe year 2050 when the youth of the world have jointly managed to solve all the problemsthe planet is facing today, he has remarkably shown how young people can take the leadto reach that beautiful future. We are impressed by his commitment to take on theresponsibility of building a sustainable future where the coming generations will be ableto thrive.The musical is organised together with the Green Cross International, and it will be stagedin conjunction with the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the organisationstarted by the Nobel Peace Laureate Mikhail Gorbachev. Green Cross International hasdone for the environment what the Red Cross has done for humanity and for this, themessage of a sustainable future couldn't be more relevant.Peace Child International and Green Cross International have raised the necessary fundsto cover all costs related to food, accommodation and domestic transport during theperiod of the musical in Geneva.
