Years without proper education, opportunities to explore one’s creativity, imagination, to find one’s voice, to heal trauma can severely damage refugee children’s futures.

My name is Ausra. I CHOOSE to represent ReVi Academy in this fundraising endeavour because I support #EducationForAll, because I stand #WithRefugees and because my values (engraved by the society healing from war atrocities), ideals (developed over curiously learning about people and the world) and personal ethics (oh, those amazing neural mechanisms humanity shares!) fuel my vision of better future to #ChildrenInEmergencies.

ReVi Academy is an extracurricular activity center where on average 100 refugee children annually can foster their learning skills (by getting used to basic writing, math, science), nurture their social and communication skills (through play, community events) and learn to regulate their emotions and heal trauma (through yoga, dance, art&craft projects).

The break down of prices associated with keeping ReVi Academy alive are:

- ACADEMY PREMISES RENTAL AMOUNT 1550 TRY (232 EUR)/month x 12 =18600 TRY (2790 EUR)/year.
- 6 TEACHERS’ SALARIES 6600 TRY (990 EUR)/month x 12 = 79200 TRY (11880 EUR)/year.
- BILLS ON UTILITIES 500 TRY (75 EUR)/month x 12 = 6000 TRY (990 EUR)/year.

Total amount for a year: 103800 TRY OR 15570 EUR*.

3. PURCHASE HAND-MADE PRODUCTS BY THE MOTHERS

Visit & shop @ReVi store . The community is running a crafts project for refugee women as means to earn an extra income to contribute to their family budget. Explore the unique bracelets and cute knitted toys made with love by refugees in Turkey.


4. ORGANIZE A FUNDRAISER EVENT

a) Tell you colleagues about the ReVi Academy fundraiser. Fundraise together. Become a socially-responsible company;
b) There’s perhaps an upcoming birthday party, family or community event. Invite your guests to support ReVi Academy as a sub-theme of the event.

This initiative is apolitical. It is also NOT affiliated, funded by or in any way associated with any institution or public organization. I joined an independent group of volunteers in Izmir to better understand the Syrian refugee situation in Turkey: access to education, income opportunities and communication among NGOs. This initiative aims at providing safe space for 100 refugee children to dream, study, play & develop their resistance to trauma.
