Actors involved:
Hellenic Children's Village:
It is a registered non-profit charitable association in Filyro, Northern Greece. The main scope for the initiative is the establishment of a modern and non-institutional in its character, safe placement for children in need. It follows a human-centered way of hosting children. There are 8 houses and each house has the "mom" and the "aunt". The goal is to grow up the children in a real family environment and not in an institution.
The people who are there have not just taken on a professional role, they experience it every day - consider that there are children who have been hosted since they were 3 years old and the bond they have developed with them is similar to family.
There are two resources that are necessary for the success of the Hellenic Children’s Village - manpower and needs. The most important is our human resources and the love for their work. We have been offering this continuously for the last 30 years. But, there is also the economic need to cover the expenses so that the children may have a decent life.
Hellenic Rescue Team:
It is a voluntary organization, which for the last 27 years has been involved in humanitarian crises and inquiry and rescue operations, in Greece and abroad. With a manpower of over 2000 volunteers nationwide and 31 branches throughout Greece, the Hellenic Rescue Team operates in the mountains, sea and urban environment, protecting those who are in danger. While, at the same time, educating and informing citizens on prevention, self-protection and first aid.
Enjoy Travel and Tourism:
Outdoor activities office with many years of experience in the design and organization of alternative tourism packages. It will offer voluntary logistic services and assistance in the fulfillment of the project.
The ‘’Enjoy Travel and Tourism’’ helped designing and implementing the "12 Refuge Trail" project. In this project, the 12 most famous shelters of Olympus were united in order to collect donations in favor of the Hellenic Rescue Team.
Aegean Airlines:
Official air carrier of Greece and supporter of the Hellenic Rescue Team. Aegean Airlines is the largest airline in Greece and a Star Alliance member, with high quality services. The flights are operated by one of the newest fleets in Europe, consisting of 61 aircrafts in a network that includes 151 destinations, 31 domestic and 120 international, in 44 countries! Aegean Airlines supports the project 10 summits / 10 days, by offering tickets for the team to go to Crete.
