Campaign Story
As most of you are probably aware I work with kids who have experiences some pretty challenging things during their short lives. Family violence, homelessness, drug and alcohol issues, mental health issues, not knowing where their next meal is going to come from - the list goes on.
The resilience these kids show is amazing, the hope they still have for a "normal" life inspiring, the ability to smile, even when they are faced with adversity almost heartbreaking!
Currently the plan sits at trying to raise approximately $1000.00. About $500 of this will be spent on providing gifts to some of the most at-risk kids I work with, the other $500 will go towards a day out at the Trees Adventure - http://www.treesadventure.com.au/ - for a group of about 10 young people.
Anything amount you can contribute would be much appreciated and will go directly to the kids, not administration, not advertising - I am running this all to ensure that it goes to who needs it most.
Rewards
A personalised thank you card from me and the kids including a "I supported Deadly Pressies" sticker!

This is a terrific initiative. Love the idea of matching kids with presents they really want - makes it less about abstract charity (not that there's anything wrong with that) and more about really directly helping the people you're working for. Great idea.

Latest update as follows: Just wanted to share with you a few of the young people your gifts will be going to this Christmas... A 14 year old girl struggling with self harm issues who has been brought up thinking family violence is the norm. A 13 year old, his 10 year old and 4 year old brothers whose mother has extensive mental health issues and who have been exposed to family violence.
