Wow.  We've done it.  We've have hit the $20,000 mark!  Big thank you again to everyone who donated and shared Elaine's story.  It is through the transformation of storytelling that has helped Elaine heal as we recognize the power of telling about one's experiences.   

 

Recently, Elaine had the opportunity to reconnect with other survivors and the loved ones of those that passed. She is currently meeting with other mental health professionals to find a good match.  Additionally, Elaine continues to practice modified yoga poses at home, which assists in her physical therapy.  She is also meeting with family and friends, and working with different government agencies to receive the resources and services she needs to continue to work on her healing. 

 

Elaine will do what is in her power to maximize the amount she can donate from this fundraiser so in addition to the Kenya Red Cross, she has decided that the funds raised beyond the $20,000 mark will go towards an education nonprofit organization whose mission she is passionate about.  She is still researching which organization this will be; we will update you as soon as she decides!
