INTRODUCTION

Hello!  My name is Zuckie Lou.  I live with my mommy, Leah and my grandparents, Mom and Papa John.  My mommy rescued me at the end of 2011 from a shelter in Dallas.  It was a very nice place and the people were very nice.  But living with mommy is wonderful!  I had a little sister too that was already living with mommy.  Her name was Meika.  Mommy called her Sweet Meika Sue.  She got sick last year with something they called kidney disease.  I don't know that much about all that but I do know that I loved my little sister and I miss her a lot.  She was a very special little lady and she taught me a lot of very cool things while she was here.  I know I will see her again though when we all go to heaven.

NOW ABOUT ME

I finally was able to go to the doctor for my check-up the other day. I REALLY like my doctor.  His name is Dr. Kirk Weicht and he is at Brown Trail Animal Hosipital.  Everyone there gives me so much love when I go.  I haven't been in a while since Meika got sick last year.  Mommy took very good care of both of us but when Meika got sick she had to have a lot of medicine and attention.  I wasn't neglected or anything like that ...heavens no!   it's just that mommy wasn't able to afford my medication and Meika's.  I wasn't really sick though.  It was just some medicine called worm medicine.  I still felt ok without it though.  Anyway, when I went to the doctor the other day he told mommy that I had something called heart worms.  I don't feel bad but I think I am gonna have to start some medicine and some sort of treatment.  Anyway, I know mommy said it is very expensive for my treatment.   All I know is that I get tired pretty easy now... and hopefully when all this is over I can chase that dang squirrel and maybe catch him!

TREATMENT

Hello!  This is Leah.  Zuckie's treatment is roughly $1,000.  It may be less.  I have an estimate from Dr. Weicht and we may be able to cut some costs here and there.  We are pretty drained financially with taking care of Meika for three months.  I did have a great deal of help with her care also.  I just simply DO NOT have this much money for Zuckie's treatment.  I hope to visit with Dr. Weicht this coming week.  I have already started Zuckie on his antibiotic that he has to take for a month before his treatment begins.  I know some of you have already been through this with your babies and have had great success.  There are no problems that we forsee with treatment for Zuckie except to keep him calm during his treatment and following.  So.. there will have to be some changes in some things we do here at the house.

LOOSING MEIKA

I have just completed a process with my Sweet Meika and now I have another one to go through.  I am a woman of faith though and trust my God to bring us through this as He did with Meika.  Thank you for reading.
