My dog Zombie has overcome adversity from Day One.  He is a mini Austrailian Shepherd that was born deaf.  When I first came upon Zombie something resounded with him, I just knew I had to adopt this dog so I decided to make the hour drive out to the shelter he was currently at.  Upon seeing him, I was surprised at how tiny he was and found he was even more awesome with his very unique howl/bark and those baby blue eyes and his ink blot, shimmering pupils.  I instantly fell in love with this dog and I would not leave until they allowed me to take him home that same day after I found out he was slated to be put down within mere days.  Because of his disability, he had been passed over time and again and had resided at the shelter well over a month.  From that fateful day in April until now I have formed a bond with this dog unlike any other bond I've had in my life.  He is my best friend.  He is my family.  During my darkest of times I was alwasy able to look at this little dog and think "If Z man can overcome all he has, then I sure as hell can stop whining and get my ass in gear".This dog has an inner strength, evidenced by the fact he was found dragging himself all the way up to the back door (over 40 ft) until he arrived at the back door of my mother in law's home. (he bit at a family friend that tried picking him up.  Determination right there people) Zombie is the toughest little son of a bitch I've ever met.  Despite being deaf and now suffering from partial blindness, he still absolutely loves playing fetch and his tennis ball and he are rarely seperated. He has also survived being hit by a speeding car, a brutal attack by dog twice his size, and suffering through three violent seizures due to his seperation anxiety.  This dog's will to survive is uncanny and impresses me to no end.  Zombie's zeal for life is infectious and every person that comes in contact with him walks away with a smile on their face and loving him.  He has a very unique quality, something not easily given nor found. So I ask now, please...please help me save my best friend.  Despite everything he is still fighting, still willing himself to survive.  I'm very rarely one to ask for help but I need it more than ever, to help the single best friend I've ever known get back on his feet and chase those tennis balls like he always has.  Where there is a will there is a way and Zombie has more will than I've ever seen.  Please, please help if you can, anything is appreciated and I will update his status as often as possible and I will be posting more and more pics of my little man.  Injury:  Herniated disks that have caused paralysis and if not relieved could cause death.
