I introduce myself, my name is Matteo, I'm italian and I'm 30 years old. I actually living and work in Birmingham as a chef and has been like this for the past 2 years.

About a month ago I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor, on the pituitary gland, which almost completely blinded me to my left eye which added to the severe headaches forced me to retire from work. Exceeded the first weeks where I had to accept my condition, at the moment I am mentally stable and I am much more positive on the outcome of the operation that awaits me at the end of the month.

Unfortunately, my contract is not salaried, is a Zero hours contract, and does not provide any pay in the month that I lost and in the subsequent. The operation. which will take place on June 18th, provides a period of rest and examinations of another 2 months. And here is where I ask for your support, because unfortunately I will not be able to work but I will still have to pay a rent and the medicines (hormones), which I will most likely have to take for a lifetime.

This fundraising campaign aims to help me just for this short period of time, hoping only 3 months and no further, where in the end if I regain my sight as before I will be able to return to work.
