It was the year 2013 when my mom, Asuncion Clave or most commonly known as Zeny, was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer Stage 3B. She had bilateral mastectomy and underwent rounds of Chemotherapy (21 sessions) and RadioTherapy (30 sessions). After a year and a half of battling, her tumor marker (Tumor markers are substances found in higher-than-normal levels in the blood, urine, or tissues of some people with cancer) went down to the normal range (thank God!!!). I even have to move my wedding because of this, but never had any regrets. I just wanted my mom to be okay and look beautiful on my special day. :) Since she was not yet declared a cancer-free patient, she needs to see her Oncologist once every month and perform specific tests and lab tests every 6 months (Chest Xray, CA153, Ultrasound, Bone Scan, CT Scan) to monitor her condition and all her lab test results were normal not until last quarter of 2015. In her Chest X-ray and CT-Scan, they saw a mass in her lungs, and was categorized as Breast Cancer Stage 4 Metastasis to Lungs. During that time, her doctor did not recommend having it operated on and removed and was advised to undergo rounds of chemotherapy (9sessions) instead to have it controlled. After the chemotherapy sessions, her doctor gave an oral chemo drug as maintenance to better control the cancer cells in her body. In her 2017 X-ray results, the mass in her lungs was miraculously gone and she was okay and strong after that.

4years after not seeing anything abnormal in her lab test results, last June 2021, she complained of pain in her underarm and a feeling of inflammation in her chest. She had it checked with her Oncologist and did the lab tests as requested. Her Tumor marker turned out to be in a normal range (which is good I think) and her oncologist did not feel any inflamed lymph nodes but was advised to have thorough tests to know the reason. Her CT scan showed that the mass in her lungs came back and has increased in size. This time, she was advised to undergo surgery to remove the mass in her lungs to know if it is malignant. Last October 7, 2021, she had the surgery done, and unfortunately, the mass found was malignant and it is Primary Lung Cancer.

The treatment plan for her is to undergo 6 cycles of Chemotherapy and 18 cycles of Immunotherapy. For the Immunotherapy, each vial costs Php87,569.25 and for the Chemotherapy, each vial costs around Php111,214.45. In addition to the chemo/immunotherapy meds, the hospital bill and pre-meds will cost around Php20,000.00/cycle. The total amount that we need for her Immunotherapy and Chemotherapy is more or less Php225,000.00/cycle every 21 days.

As for those who would ask why we chose to be treated in Asian Hospital, unfortunately, there's still no available Immunotherapy in all Government Hospitals as of now.

I've uploaded the quotation for the Chemo and Immunotherapy expenses in the gallery. Feel free to check. All the prices indicated for the medications needed were already discounted for Senior discount and some special discounts that we have applied for the specific meds.

I know that we are in a time that all of us are facing different level of problems due to Global Pandemic, but I am knocking at the door of your heart if you can spare us some of your change to help us accumulate the amount we needed for our mom's Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy.

Any amount will go a long way and will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.
