Dear friends and family,
This coming July I will be traveling 21 hours and roughly 8,700 miles across the Atlantic Ocean with a small group from North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship (NDCBF) to Lusaka, Zambia.
WHY AM I GOING? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?
First and foremost, I am a Christian and God has opened this door for me to go on this short-term mission trip with ECR-Trust Expanded Church Response and NDCBF. This will be my second mission trip to Africa, my first mission trip was in 2010 and I was blessed with the chance to share Christ with the people of Kenya and administer aid/supplies to various orphanages.
God has always been there for me, but that hasn’t always been reciprocated. Years ago I was that person that looked at life like a competition and I was very self-consumed; there was an invisible measure of success and it never really matter how much “success” I achieved because it was never good enough. It wasn’t until I visited Kenya, that God was able to finally get through to me and open my eyes. For the first time, I was able to understand Ephesians 6:7 “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people”. I am a work in progress, but I can only grow stronger with God in my corner.
The purpose of the trip is to team up with Christians from Zambia and help spread the Gospel to the people who have never heard the name of Jesus. I will be specifically working with children and youth between the ages of 6-24 who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.I want Zambians to know Christ like I do and to share the good news about Jesus and His offer of life transforming grace, love, and salvation for all
WILL YOU PARTNER WITH ME?
First and most importantly, I’d like to ask you specifically and would be deeply honored if you would join me and the team by partnering with us through prayer. Please pray for our team, that we would be completely dependent on God in our efforts and that He would strengthen us to withstand the spiritual battles ahead of us
Secondly, would you prayerfully consider partnering with me financially to support of this trip? We are asked not to fund our own trip, but to instead raise awareness and engage others to include them in the experience and fully depend on His provision through others. The total cost of this trip is $3,250. The funds are put toward transportation, food, lodging, translators and supplies. Much of this amount is due by July 3rd.
Any funds raised above and beyond the trip cost will be directed toward the local disciple makers’ training. Please do not feel pressured to give.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about the trip, please let me know.
