Hi, Zach is a 7 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy. He was diagnosed when he was 1 1/2 years old by his Neurological Pediatrician due to various symptoms.
What is Cerebral Palsy? CP usually is caused by brain damage that happens before or during a baby's birth, or during the first 3 to 5 years of a child's life. This brain damage also can lead to other health issues, including vision, hearing, and speech problems; and learning disabilities.
There is no cure for CP, but treatment, therapy, special equipment, and, in some cases, surgery can help kids who are living with the condition.
When someone first sees him, they always say he doesn’t look like someone who has a disability then they get to talk to him and see him move then it shows.
He can walk slowly but has difficulty conversing properly and writing, he does not have much muscle strength which stops him from exerting too much effort, moving too much, jumping, gripping, etc.
He has behavioural problems, eating problems, digestion problems and bowel movement problems as well. What I admire about my son is that he strives to succeed. He tries his best. He is the sweetest kid I know.
He needs at least 4 times a week therapy composing of Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Physical Therapy. Therapy each session is too expensive and is not covered at all by any type of insurance. Here in the Philippines, everything that is good is expensive. Therapy, groceries, bills.... and to add to that, private education. I have enrolled him in a private school that can help him with his needs but I’m afraid I for the next years becAuse it is very expensive. Expenses for him is like having two kids. My salary can’t even provide properly for him.
Public schools in the Philippines is cheap but the environment is not healthy at all and will not help him in any way.
My earnings are not enough. I work overtime to earn a little bit more but it’s not that much (which robs me from time to take care of my son). I try to make ends meet but we have been struggling for years. His father abandoned him before he was born. I keep reaching out to him but he chose to keep ignoring us and deprive our son of his needs. It is embarassing and hard for me to admit but I do need financial assistance to sustain all of my son’s needs everyday, every week, every month, every year.
We need financial aid from anyone who has the heart for my Zach. He is the love of my life and I want the best for him. I would do anything for him. I only learned about this website now. I wish I found it years ago. Kindly help him out.
