Campaign Story
Earlier in my friend’s pregnancy her doctor mentioned a rare complication that could occur in identical twin pregnancies, called twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome. The problem with TTTS is that the babies do not receive an even share of the placenta and the fluids for survival. One baby is a donor baby, the other a recipient. The recipient receives excess fluids and this can cause heart failure. Her OB presented one of the options such as Septostomy. She ended up getting admitted to the hospital for 3 days and advised her to go on bed rest. On December 9, 2016 (25 weeks) she began having large contractions and went into labor. The babies were born via normal spontaneous delivery. Zach was 890 grams in 25 weeks and needed a blood transfusion. Yane weighed only 580g in 24 weeks. Both of their lungs are weak and needed an Endotracheal intubation for them to breathe properly. The twins were still in the NICU and are under observation. the cost of medical care in NICU is too high to sustain. Baby Zach and Yane were in NICU for 2 weeks already and charges were climbing to P400,000. The hospital's suggestion is to register at a government hospital but until now we can't find a government hospital with available incubators.
In behalf of Alycah, we are asking for your support, prayers and financial assistance. Any help is well appreciated. Thank you and God bless us all.

Watching him move and breathe beneath the glass case, hope flows through. He fights. So we must too.

As of now Yane is safely admitted in PCMC's NICU hopefully he gets stronger by the day. Zach however is still at Medical City and in constant observation due to his heart
