YouTube With A Purpose

Hey there! My name is Jared. I live in a small town in South Africa called Montagu. At this very moment i am 17, but very soon i will be 18 and finally an "adult". So if you would like to find out more about me you can contact me personally and i will be happy to talk, but basically there have been times where i have been very poor. Im not so poor anymore, but im not rich either. Im comfortable and i love my life! Why am i telling you this? Well since my family has always been struggling and i grew up poor i have always empathised with those who go through the same struggles. Now in South Africa there is a job shortage so many of the people in poverty are not poor because they are lazy but because either they cant find a job or that they dont earn enough. Now poverty is not the only thing that i care about. I also have a huge love for animals as i was lucky enough to have an uncle and aunt who used to take me to wild life reserves as a kid and after 8 years of not seeing them they invited me to join them for a month of camping at one reserve and this sparked my passion once again. So i also want to get involved in things such as wild life rehibilitation and also to raise awareness on how serious poaching is. So inone of the images of my campaign you'll see a kid painting. He is a local child who paints at the saterday market and sells his little arworks with all his friends. So you may be thinking "okay so what?" Well this child is a street kid and so are all his friends, They do have parents, but usually the parents are abusive and alcoholics so the children prefer to roam the streets. Now i dont know much about social wellfare and the legalities but ive always found joy in making friends with these little guys. So there is this old proverb that youve probably heard and it goes something like this, "if you give a man a fish he'll eat for a day, but if you teach a man to fish he'll have enough food to last his life" So what i want to do is help kids like this and help further there talents so that they can succeed in life and not fall into the same hole as there parents. My time of poverty was gift. It was a gift that allowed me to relate to and understand people with such problems and i dont want to waste such a gift. I want to do something and i will do something whether my campaign works or not, but i feel that this campaign will allow me to do so much more. So why YouTube? Well YouTube is growing and its growing fast. i believe that it will be the future of video entertainment because lets face it, normal television is dying. YouTube is a place where you can get a message out to a huge audience without having to go through a bunch of people first. You can just make your video and then with just a mouse click publish it for the whole world to see. Now imagine waht you could do with something like that? All you need is one significant viewer to see the video and then just like that youve found a sponsor for the person youve been trying to help. So i know that making it big will be a challenge, but i also know myself pretty well and i belive that with the right tools i will be able to succeed. I honestly belive that i have the charisme and personailty that people will be interested in watching. I have also been told that i should be an actor or Tv presenter or something along those lines, but thats not what i want to do in life.This is my dream and ill never stop chasing it. All the donations that i recieve will be used to fund my projects and buy the necessary equipment. If i do not reach an amount that enables me to kickstart my project all the money will be given to people who need it. Also i will try my hardest to keep in contact with every donator and keep them in the loop of things. Thank You so much!
