Shubham Rathore

I had a morning on a Sunday amidst strong water and thick clouds. When we came out, there was a crowd of thousands of youth outside the nearby school and the same crowd was outside the schools of the whole city. The youth standing there were repeatedly looking at the chaspa list outside the center to suit their admit card. Actually the exam was going to be held on that day of the Civil Services of the Union Public Service Commission. There was a lot of time in the exam, so I went out to talk to him about unemployment. The youth standing at that center had reached there by traveling a long way from far-flung areas. I got to learn a lot by talking to them.

India's name first comes to mind as soon as we hear the word unemployment, but it does not mean that unemployment is not a problem in other countries. But perhaps it is not taken seriously in India. The result of this is the unemployment rate is constantly touching new heights. By 2011, the unemployment rate had reached about 9.6%. Today about 16 crore youth are unemployed, if this situation prevails, then this problem can take a very dangerous form in the country of 65% of the youth.

At the same time, one of the youth present starts and says, the main reason for unemployment is population growth. Where the population was around 33 crores in the 1947s, it has now reached about 125 crores (according to the 2011 census). A young man meets the former youth and says yes, this is absolutely true. According to the 2014 report of the National Sample Survey Organization, the agriculture sector provides about 53% of employment. While government jobs provide only 2% and private sector about 34% and remaining 9% occupation.

A young man who came from a peasant family says, no one knows when agriculture, which provides 53% of the employment, becomes unseasonal rain, hail, or drought. How can one depend on agriculture only in the event of drought, while there is no hope from the government. Every year around 5 lakh farmers commit suicide or migration. Seeing this state of agriculture, the youth is afraid of the agricultural sector and he moves towards wages.

Another youth reminds Baba Saheb Ambedkar that, industrial development is important in the country, but along with it, it is also important to have direct investment in the country i.e. direct foreign investment, skill development and responsible government. . Only by industrial development can we join the developed countries.

One youth says with displeasure that governments will not only have to emphasize on skill development but also to assure the youth that the government is committed to provide them employment. Congress had promised employment to 10 lakh youth in Assam, then Prime Minister Modi ji provided 1 crore jobs, but later it became a political jumle. Another youth says that government job provides an orderly life (even if it has 2% share) so most of the youth are following it. Whereas, India will become a developed country only when it has industrial development and at the same time agriculture should be given priority and the youth join it.

A young man standing far away says that, even though the government sector generates only 2% of employment, it should be provided only to those who are entitled to it. That is, the reservation should be abolished, the government should abolish the reservation and insist on agriculture so that the youth can move towards agriculture and business. Another young man strongly opposes this, saying that until the situation of social discrimination ends and the education system of the country does not improve, reservation should remain so that equality in the society can come at the earliest.

A Muslim youth says that Muslim society will not get employment in government jobs or private sector, such a common thinking has been formed. Today people see Islam wrong and in their own way and are hesitant to give employment, why is that? We are also Indians and we should also be seen as an Indian. In this series, a young man from Kashmir says that people of other states consider us terrorists and traitors and do not provide employment. By the end of September 2011, a figure of about 6 lakh youth in Kashmir was unemployed.

One of the girls standing for a long time says that the progress of the country depends on the condition of the women of the country. About half of the population in the country is women, but women lag far behind men. In such a situation, reservation is the only way to forward them, so they should also get reservation as women. So that they too can join hands strongly in creating better society and developed country by getting employment.

Another woman says that during elections, most leaders appeal to their families to get women to vote, but women are not given much importance. She also points to a recently disputed statement that women should only do household work.

All the young girls standing there say in one voice that, now they want to show a mirror to the government. Now they will not hesitate to talk to the government about their rights and decide to solve the problem of unemployment with the government. In the coming times, we will elect the same government which has the basic principle of reducing unemployment. They are now aware of their future and are not going to get seduced for long.Shubham Kamal:
