Youth Empowerment Programme

Universal Initiative For Youth Development Programme (UIFYDP) is a social organisation registered with Malawi Government whose aim is to empower the youth of Malawi by promoting their skills and providing them with job opportunities through internship programmes.

UIFYDP was founded by Kondwani Makungwa in 2015.

MISSION

To empower the youth through provision of training, education, career guidance and counselling as well as internship connections and job placement with companies and organisations.

VISION

To have Malawian youth earning a living through sustainable socio-economic activities.

To have the youth actively participate in economic development of the nation.

To have a society where the youth have opportunities to use their skills to earn a living and contribute towards national development.

SCOPE OF OPERATION

Youth empowerment through promotion of skills and creation of job opportunities through job placement, internship programmes, and entrepreneurship trainings.

OUR TARGET GROUP

Our programmes target the youth in school, school drop outs, university and other tertiary education graduates.

CAPABILITY STATEMENT

The organisation comprises of highly motivated staff with wide ranging experiences such as: Lecturers, Nurses (retired), Bankers (retired), Accountants, Administrators, Teachers, Journalists and Social workers who are serving the organisation as volunteers to help the organisation achieve its goals.

Universal Initiative for Youth Development Programme UIFYDP it operates under the guidance of its board of Trustees . The day-to-day activities are carried out by by staff working in its official secretariat under direct supervision of the Executive Director.

SUCCESSFUL STORIES

Since its inception in 2015, the organisation has carried out activities with some youth in various parts of the country that includes; trainings, orientations, interviews, conferences, demonstrations, research, sports, and fundraising campaigns.

The organisation has secured internship for more than one hundred and thirty (130) youth in Malawi in various companies and organisations.

FUNDING

As a social organisation Universal Initiative For Youth Development Programme UIFYDP has no steady funding and has so far been run using meager resources from its founders. It has been the founders passion to help the youth of Malawi be productive. The founders initial belief was "to contribute a little something to the development of the youth in Malawi."

GROWING OF MEMBERSHIP

The organisation is witnessing tremendous growth in its membership drive. Youth from all over the country are registering with the organisation. However , to assist all these youth to secure internship is becoming difficult as many companies and organisations are to be visited. Daily running costs such as communication, stationery / printing and photocopying, membership database management, transport etc. are becoming expensive so much that the founders meager resources cannot sustain these operational expenses.

REQUEST FOR SUPPORT

It is for this reason that the organisation is humbly requesting you, in good faith, to assist with financial contribution so that it can sustain it's operations and reach out to as many youth in Malawi as possible.UIFYDP intends to extends its programmes to rural areas so that youth from remote areas should be given same opportunities and empowered like those from urban areas.

The organisation has policies to ensure that there is no financial malpractice. The organisation will ensure that the funds are well manages to meet the goals of the organisation.
