Introduction

Unemployment is the most depressing situation among the young people, especially when one has struggled through education and cannot secure any job to make ends meet.

The situation is worsening and youth are involved in endless job applications which do not bear fruit especially when you do not have someone special to put you through.

Self-employment therefore is the way to go. However, the capital to start any small scale business is also a problem.

There are also people with disability who face the same problem due to their conditions. I have experienced people who are deaf but with various skills of doing something for a living also locked out and frustrated.

I have therefore come up with a plan of raising money that will be used to establish modern barber shops in towns. This idea will generate funds on a daily basis since hair cut is a continuous process with no season.

Following is a summary of the project:

1. Description of beneficiaries

This project will not only help me as an individual but will take at least five people in any of the barber shops established.

This project will also be of great help to the society since it will give a good service at an affordable rate.

The project will create employment to young people and those with disability who have the skills to do that particular work.

It would be a source of training for people with same passion and urge to pursue that as their way of winning bread.

2. Details of what the funds will be used for

Funds will mainly be used to establish a barber shop with an aim of making revenue that will be used to paying employees. Practically, I am planning to have each of the employees have a commission on their work.

Once the business picks up well and returns are good. I plan to agree with my team on how much they remit per day despite the number realised. For example, if the barber shop has four seats and each member is doing a haircut for his client who pays may be CAD5 each. In one sitting that is CAD20 for all of the hair dressers.

Now suppose they do ten clients each per day, each person will make CAD50 thus a total of CAD200 per day.

We can agree on two devices to manage finance. First is to share the a percentage on profit, may be they get 40% and I get 60% since I will be responsible for paying the overheads such as water, electricity bill and material replenishment.

Second option will be to agree with my team on a particular fixed amount each will remit and the rest becomes their earning even if they have a hundred clients in a day. This can work well once the business picks momentum.

The second option will make the team benefit from their hard earned cash since it will be their effort sourcing for clients competitively.

Another main project will be to have as many barber shops as possible from the revenues collected so as to support as many unemployed youth and people with disability as possible.

3. Explanation on how soon the fund is needed

The fund is required immediately since I have also identified few individuals to start with. I can also vouch that in order to start sourcing for a good location with a good space, I have to have cash to book or pay for deposit to retain the space.

However, since the funds may not be readily available, I think if all goes well I should be up and running by March or latest April of 2019. Otherwise if funds are available today, then in two days we should be engaging the stakeholders and interior designers to begin.

4. What the support means to me

If this support is realised, this will be a plus to me since I will use it for the purpose of building hope to the hopeless.

It will give me a challenge to realise that there are still people who have the heart to help, and my aim is to show the world that a journey begins with a single step.

Through this support, I wish to drive this project to prosper and establish other branches. So this support will not only be for a single project but with an aim of expansion.

This support will make a huge difference to the society at large since it will be an opportunity brought home.

The executive barbershop business idea is an ideal option for anyone who wishes to widen their fishing net. This business does not necessarily need a trained barber to start one. You can simply use your entrepreneurial prowess to start, then train a few young men form your area and recruit them to work for you.

That way we’ll have established a source of livelihood and also helped create employment for deserving young men and women.
