YOUTH CHANGING THE FUTURE

I am a Nurse Practitioner in GA. I would like to start a youth foundation here implementing several things to help boys and girls have a better start. I will highlight some of the things I would like to focus on: 1. Summer jobs for 13-18 yr old males/females, to help motivate career choices and get experience in resume writing and filling out job applications. 2. Research and help the high childhood obesity rate here in GA among elementary, middle, and high school boys and girls. 3. Implement conversations, blogs, and meetings for boys and girls to talk about their bodies and learn about their bodies. Examples what periods are, hygiene, what the scientific names of their bodies and what they do , etc. 4. Sports training and fun. Include kick ball teams, tether ball, double dutch, football, base/soft balle, etc to encourage exercise and outside activity. To promote also team building. 5. Partner with various other groups and businesses for scholarships, college trips, teaching youths to be mentors, teaching public speaking etc. I hope you are excited as I am to help better our youth all the way around. Of course this is just some of the many ideas I want to implement. I want this to be a well rounded foundation for youth to get the fun, experience, and positive experiences as a young person. I hope this will help to set them up for adulthood to have a better start.
