We are fundraising for the purchase of a land to build a youth empowerment centre along with organizational administrative costs.
We are the Butakoola Village Association for Development( BUVAD), an indigenous founded and registered non-profit organization implementing a local project of Orphaned Vulnerable Girl Children Care and Support Project, which we are implementing in our founding/native area communities of Kayunga District located in the remote region of central Uganda ( East Africa ). Our National charity registration number is S.5914/8930.
We wish to seek your kind consideration to award a grant towards establishing a Girl-youth empowerment center that will enable us make a meaningful poverty eradication impact in the lives of youths whom we are continuing to sponsor with educational support and even those many identified girl - youths that have come up and sought our support though we do not have enough resources to meet their needs.
BUVAD with experience in OVC care and providing educational support to girl children and girl youths up to ordinary level Secondary- Senior four (S.4) in partnership with Investments for Developing Communities contact Lisa Whitridge , has determined that the child school dropout rate in Kayunga is very high with 80 out of every 100 dropping out before professionalism. There is urgent need for these youths to not only end up with academic/nonprofessional education but proceed with acquisition of a skill that will provide these youths with future opportunities to thrive towards their safety while being facilitated in their learning and development.
Our goal is to ensure a sustainable life in future for 300 youths (above) annually. Upon this background, we intend to establish a self-propelled, charity driven youth empowerment and training centre in Kayunga Uganda, that has an own source of income for future sustainability and expansion.
At this centre we shall develop initiatives referred to as Trades like; Music Dance and Drama, Football and Netball, Indoor games, Cosmetology, Poultry keeping, Bee Keeping, Zero Grazer Cattle keeping, Vegetable and Fruit growing, Art and Crafts and Community Development. Nutritional projects like poultry keeping, Bee keeping, Zero grazer cattle keeping and Vegetable growing will additionally ensure good nutrition for these youths at the centre.
For a starter income generation towards the centre sustainability and expansion, we intend to begin with establishment of a chicken coop (under the poultry keeping trade) for eggs production of 1000 layer birds in the pilot stage, which will in future be supported with additional income sources from, the honey produced under the Bee Keeping Trade, milk and beef production from the Zero Grazer Cattle keeping Trade and The Vegetable and Fruit growing Trade.
We shall need to acquire sizeable land of 2 acres initially, on which we shall set up the BUVAD Youth Empowerment and Training Centre. We shall also set up an own borehole water source to cover up the water challenge as an insurance against water scarcity.
Acquisition of the land, establishment of the borehole water source and a chicken coop will kick start this project in high gear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is hope for a donation underway to co-fund the construction of the chicken coop by October 2019.
Also; Next year 2020 in April, we shall be hosting a team of 20 volunteers whom will be fundraising for construction materials and come over and help with the construction of more structures at this centre.
Indeed, we bank our hopes for this centre on you!!
Together we can make a Difference
