Young SA talent, Max Smith is pleading for support to live his one and only dream!

LESS THAN 10 DAYS TO MAKE OUR FINAL DECISION - AND STILL DESPERATELY NEED TO RAISE ENOUGH MONEY (approx. R35k incl GGF fee) AND PRAY FOR MIRACLES TO GET THIS SUPER-PASSIONATE, DRIVEN AND DETERMINED YOUNG MAN TO LIVE OUT HIS ONE AND ONLY DREAM - TO BE A RED BULL ROOKIE AND ATTEND THE TRY OUT THIS YEAR IN SPAIN!!!!!!!!

We received this fantastic news this week that Max has been selected to attend the RedBull Rookies Try-out in Spain (AGAIN)!!! He was also accepted last year to attend, but we had absolutely no way of financing it so dismissed the idea completely as impossible :( Sadly this year I am definitely not in any position to afford this opportunity, as the monthly costs involved in racing are challenging enough!!

SO THIS YEAR I AM NOT GOING DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT!!!

I AM GOING TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES AND TRY ANYTHING I CAN TO DO MY BEST TO TRY LET HIS DREAM COME TRUE!!! AND IN DOING SO - AM DESPERATELY REACHING OUT TO THE COMMUNITY, FRIENDS, FAMILY - TO SPREAD FURTHER TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILIES, WHO WILL THEN FURTHER SPREAD DOWN THE LINE AND SO ON (You know what I mean :) or absolutely anyone you may know of that could assist in any way possible.

This is big deal for thousands of kids around the world, where all those selected fly to Almeria, Spain from 14 - 19 October and attend 4 days intense training with the Red Bull Team!!!

A little background....

14 year old Max Smith, is a well known rider and member of MSA and KZN Road Racing Club (of which he won the KZN NSF100 Junior Championship Title in both 2015 and 2016).

All he thinks and talks about is riding motorbikes. All day every day, and somewhere in between he eats and sleeps. Since he was 8, he was passionate about bikes, and saved up all his pocket and birthday money for two years, to buy his own first off-road bike. From that day, all I've been told, is that one day he is going to be a Red Bull Rookie. Four years ago, he was spotted at a race day while visiting with a friend, and Director of SAMRA notified me of their impression of Max's skills, and he was sponsored for a year of riding the NSF100 on-road. And so his love for riding became a passion

This year however, Max has entered a bigger class and rides a Honda CBR150. Being his first year in this class has had its ups and downs as he has familiarised himself with the bike, missed one race due to illness, and getting to each race has been a difficult and challenging task. But against all odds, we have not failed once to ensure Max is present on every race day.

Max has never had the opportunity to do any practices in between race days, so the only practice he has, is the session before qualifying on a race day. Two weeks ago, some friends helped me get Max and his bike to the local track for the day, and after only one days practice, he had improved his lap time by 5 seconds. This race day just passed (9th September) - saw him improve by 6 seconds and placing third overall - a first podium after a trying year! And a fierce determination to keep doing better!

Those who are chosen to be Red Bull Rookies for the upcoming year will no doubt be a life-changing opportunity! And those who don't make it through to the finals - will certainly have an experience that will change and enhance their riding dreams and careers

I am going to try set up an account for MAXSMITH#72, where any donations, no matter how big or small, will be appreciated beyond the English dictionary!!!!

We will hope and pray that we can raise enough, all funds coming in will be transparent to anybody who wishes to see them, and if we are unsuccessful in raising enough - funds will be returned to you without hesitation.

We accept the improbability of this request, but embrace the fact that miracles can happen.
