Young African Women Initiative, or YAWI, is an African based nonprofit organization working towards gender equality for women, children and girl’s. This organization is dedicated to freeing women from all form of violence and economic injustices. With a focus on sexual and reproductive health, girl’s education, and women economic empowerment, YAWI has crested interventions that begin to work towards these goals. The three existing interventions include projects entitled "Light is a basic need", "Gender-based violence prevention paralegal project", and "Livelihood program". Read about these programs here: http://www.youngafricawomeninitiative.org/.

This funding will go towards the "Gender-based violence prevention paralegal project", which works to empower survivors of gender-based violence by providing women with paralegal training. These trainees are then able to act as advocates for women in their communities.

YAWI is dedicated to creating approaches and interventions that change life outcomes for women and their families Kenya. We need your help! Even a small donation will go a long way.
