WHAT IS YAC ABOUT?

YAC is an adult-led initiative, developed and organised each year by a core team of motivated young adults. This team is responsible for deciding the themes and topics to be explored during the conference.

After its first successful year, this two-day event returns on the 5^th and 6^th October 2019 in Limassol, Cyprus!

During this weekend, 60 young adults will be given the opportunity to participate in a series of presentations; goal-oriented workshops; panel discussions; debates; networking; music and theatre; role-play and games. Through these group activities they will acquire new assets, build upon those they already have and foster their leadership and critical thinking - all essential skills needed to enable their transition through adolescence. The young adults' interaction with the professional trainers present, will provide further opportunity for them to grow and develop.

HOW DOES MY CONTRIBUTION HELP?

Your generous donation will go towards:

• providing equal opportunity of access to young adults who are experiencing financial difficulties (including refugee teenagers) by sponsoring their attendance (privacy laws prevent disclosure of names)
• food and beverages for the participants during the weekend
• covering all other associated running costs of the conference (such as printing costs, room rental etc).

Please note that this is a non-profit conference. All panellists, mentors and workshop facilitators are contributing their time and expertise before during and after the conference for free.

Monies raised will also go towards follow-up workshops and a mentoring program throughout the year to strengthen the new assets gained during the YAC conference.
