Campaign Story
Yofoso Academy is a Community Based Organisation which runs Sports, Art and Educational programmes aimed at engaging the Youth and Children positively so that they are nurtured into responsible Citizens. It is located in Garden Compound in Lusaka.Garden is one of the densely populated areas, just a stone throw away from the busy Centre Business District, or Town Centre
Mission
To promote and improve Sports participation among young people, using it as a tool to bring down the levels of Juvenile Delinquency and also as a tool to economically empower them.
Aim
To create a Youth and Child friendly, Responsive, Sensitive and Interactive forum for the adoption of positive value
OBJECTIVES
•Use Sports as a tool for mass youth mobilisation in order to disseminate and sensitise the Youth on such issues as:- Promotion of Healthy Practices, Effects of Drug Abuse, HIV/AIDs, Child Abuse, Vandalism of Infrastructure, Good Culture Norms etc.
•Promote and improve various sporting Skills among the young people by encouraging Competitions through networking with relevant stakeholders.
•To empower young people through Skills and Capacity Building Programmes by holding Training Workshops
•To establish and maintain a Sports and Educational Resource Centre for the young people, carry out research, disseminate results and serve as a referral tool for the young people.
Yofoso Arts and Sports Academy is based in Garden Lusaka, where we run a centre for Youths and Children to learn different Arts and Sports Skills.
One of our most successful Sport is Chess, in which our juniors had dominated the Sport for the last 4 years and we have since shifted our focus to the African Continent as can be seen from the attached, Yofoso Tournaments.
We are currently fundraising for our Junior Chess players to go and participate in 2 major Chess Tournament, Zone 4.2 under 16 Championship to be held in Lilongwe, Malawi this coming August and Africa Youth Tournament to be hosted by Namibia in December.

Yofoso Chess Academy Conquer Lusaka
Update posted by Mulenga Mulenga at 09:08 amLast Saturday our Junior Chess players participated in the LPCA Developmental Chess Championship organised by Lusaka Province Chess Association which was held at The Italian School of Lusaka. The Tournament which attracted more than 55 players from various Schools and Academies within Lusaka Province had 9 sections, under 18, under. . . . .
