Hi Everyone!

Thank you so much for reading my fundraising page. I really appreciate your support!

My name is Yeshi. I'm a single mom and university student with an amazing 10-year old kidlette. I am a professional English as a Second Language teacher with a teaching certification and an Associate's degree. After working abroad for five years, I thought I'd bring us home to the States, finish my Bachelor's degree and try to find a job here teaching.

I started a second teaching certification or TESOL cert. through a local university, signed up to finish my Bachelor's degree online from a well-ranked university, and dove in to coursework.

I've also been looking for employment but most positions pay $10-$15/hr and require a Bachelor's degree. I've applied to many places but I'm stuck with a problem; I have no car and there is only one bus that can get me into the city, from there I'd have to transfer multiple times to get to any jobs, all after my daughter's school has conclued. My mother works nights and so there is no way I can pay for a sitter and go off to work within this pay range.

I decided instead to look to Taiwan, China, and India. I've been applying in Taiwan and have gotten an offer. I've also applied to a position in northern India and am waiting to hear back. Either place would be a wonderful experience for both of us. Problem is, I don't have any money to pay for our tickets, visas, and that first month of expenses that would get us through.

This is my anticipated budget:

$2000 max. for two economy class tickets to either Taiwan or India

$300 for two visas($150 x 2 people)

($400 - $500) X2 (first and last) for housing in Taipei, Taiwan OR $150-$200 for the first month in India.

First month start up, either place, $300-$400, on the lower-end for India.

This would cover:

§       food including bulk staples

§       cleaning supplies

§       cooking utensils

§       food containers to protect against insects(cockroaches and ants in both places)

§       sealing up against said bugs

§       laundry expenses in Taiwan

Utilities in Taiwan: $100 max (gas, electric, phone minutes, mass-transit pass, and internet installation)

Utilities in India: $50 max (phone minutes, bus fare, and internet installation)

If you can help us out, it would only serve to empower us to be self-sufficent and enable me to pursue my degree. In either country, I can live off of part-time work and not struggle financially. I will be able to pay down my student loan debts and still have money left over to pay for rent and food. Being able to provide for us is a big self-esteem boost for me.

For all of those kind souls who give donations to my fund raiser, I would like to give you gifts from either country, depending on which job comes through. Taiwan is rich in flavourful teas, imported European sweets, amazing pottery, and art. India has different kinds of teas, vanilla beans from the south, beautiful shawls from Kashmir, mint and chili flavoured corn puff snacks, and amazing photographs waiting to be taken and sent to you! My child and I will also send anime drawings and watercolours as thank you cards.

Thank you very much! I am grateful to all of you.
