Yaya Cat Fights Cancer

Cathy Nadela is 39 years old and a mother to a 16-year-old daughter. They are both from Carcar Cebu City.

She’s our Yaya Cat and has been with us, in Manila, for 12 years. She’s family and she treats us the same. She loves and cares for our children as if they’re hers.

Last October, she’s diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. It was unexpected. Devastating. In early September, she started feeling pain in her lower abdomen and was treated for UTI. After feeling better, pains from other parts of her stomach started. She had an abdominal ultrasound that disclosed a suspicious malignant left Ovarian tumor. On October 17, a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy Bilateral Salpingo-oophorectomy was done. While the tumor was removed (after 5 hours operation) from the ovaries, the Doctor noted peritoneal seedings on the pelvic peritoneum, anterior abdominal wall, and some of the parietal peritoneum of the small intestines specifically Ileum and portion of the jejunum. She is required to undergo 6-8 chemotherapy and maybe radiation to eliminate all cancer cells in her body within the next 6 months.

The prayers and support of family and friends have been our strength.

But our fight has just started. Her chemo journey starts November 19 at Perpetual Help Medical Center, Las Pinas. We continuously ask for your prayers.

We’re also fundraising for her chemo treatment. We are raising P200,000. We are hoping this is the only amount we'll need.
