Dear friends and followers,

Help us to inspire the creators of tomorrow.

There are so many young creative people today that need our support to explore what happens if they give their ideas a chance. Yannik always championed expression in others, no matter who they were and how they expressed it. We founded the Y_Space to continue what Yannik started, by giving teenagers the space to make their ideas real.

Our project began almost a year ago with Yannik’s closest friends, the Original Creators.

What we have achieved in 2016

• Last year, we created the overall concept, strategy, and visual identity for Y_Space
• We established an online presence with a magazine prototype and key social media channels and officially launched the Y_Space in November around Yannik’s birthday with the first Original Creator workshop (see video above) – creating a lot of momentum including a lot of Buzz – Likes, Articles, Follower, Supporter etc.
• We also initiated the official foundation formation in Germany

What we want to achieve in 2017

In 2017 we want to give more of teenagers a loudspeaker to turn the volume up to 100 so their ideas are seen, heard, and felt.

This year, our main objective is to create consistency. Consistency in our activities, in our presence, in our funding, and in our following and contributions.

We need £20k to fund the Y_Space E_Magazine

It will feature content from Y_Space Creators and works from other inspirational teenagers from around the world, as well as tutorials to help Creators get going on new projects.

Every penny will go into curating, editing, and promoting a magazine that teenagers will want to read, share with their friends, and see their own work featured in, inspiring more creators of tomorrow.

Yannik Foundation

The Yannik Foundation has been set up to spread and nurture the characteristics of Yannik, our beloved son and brother, who passed away very suddenly at age 12 in spring 2015.

Yannik died before he could realize his full potential. He was smart, empathetic, caring and always embraced the gifts and challenges of life. One of those gifts was his talent to infuse others with his joy of life.

As Yannik cannot pass on his traits to others that he touches in live we made it our mission to foster an open, curious and creative mindset among teens from 11-14 years and provide an environment in which they can create together.

Our dream for Yannik to grow up into a mature human being, find a partner and have many children will never be fulfilled.

What remains with us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why Yannik left this earth so early, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that he died, but that he lived and that his life gave us memories – too beautiful to forget.

We want to thank everyone who has been part of this journey so far… people who donated, people who contributed through their service, words of sympathy, and hours of hard work…you are all awesome!! Thank you so much for helping to honor our beloved Yannik and helping us to eventually change the world!

Y_Space

The Y_Space is a central element of the Yannik Foundation. We combine three elements in the Y_Space: workshops, the Y_Space magazine, and digital sharing. These three element allow the Creators of Tomorrow to: Discover, Create, and Share.

Y_Space workshops provide an environment for creators to discover. Our workshop cover a range of topics but always focus on sparking curiosity and teaching new techniques and tools to create. The Y_Space magazine creates a digital space where the creators can make their ideas real. Tools on the website allow them to make motifs, design t-shirts, and set monthly creative challenges for other creators in the community. Digital sharing gives creators the ability to publish their work on a platform dedicated to creativity. This gives them the chance to share with others and learn from what their peers are posting.
