Campaign Story
Good day All,
Yakhanani Youth Women Development (YYWD) is a registered Non-profit organization that was founded in June 2020 with the aim to empower young women in rural areas. The focus for YYWD is on social development aimed to empower young women on the aspect of self-care, health, career, educational enrolment and inspire them to reach their short to long term goals.
Our first project includes tackling mental illness, raise corona virus awareness and offering personal guidance to the young women in the rural community of Mbange Location outside Umtata in Eastern Cape. This will be a kick-off of a 12-month programme, which will be implemented with the aim to have productive measurable results at the end. We currently have received 17 confirmation from the women who wish to participate on this programme. We hope to offer emotional and mental health counselling, self-care and sanitary guidance as well as educational and career support. We hope to break these young women’s stereotypical thinking of not being able to pursue their dreams and achieving their goal. The Yakhanani Foundation aims to expand through out the rural regions of the Eastern Cape to provide above mentioned services to those in need.
It is also unfortunate that these young women and their families have been affected by the pandemic as they depend on monthly wages and most of those small businesses have either lost profits or shut down. We would like to raise funds to offer a social relief by donating non-perishable foods and clothes to their homes. We would also like to purchase stationery and sanitary products for these girls during the highly sensitive time. Any amount from R10 or more will make a huge difference. The plan is to offer relief packages of at least R300 per Yakhanani member to take home to their family.
Your support will mean a lot to us.
Thank you

2 Corinthians 9: 6-8 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
