Despite our best efforts the Metro Fire Brigade are charging us $1100 call out fee for the building fire alarm that went off during our party. Their investigation pinpointed the smoke detector outside of our apartment door as the source of the alarm. We put it to them (via our Body Corporate) that as we had multiple level 2 residents in attendance that smoke from cooking may have gotten into the corridor from us coming and going between apartments. We argued that they cannot blame a single apartment for this and as such should cancel the fee. Unfortunately we were not successful and $1100 will be added to our next Body Corporate levy. Please party people help us to pay this fee.
