Christmas consumerism can be lovely when kept in its place, but if you're yearning to do something different this year, one option might be to help the homeless as well as your family, friends and self. Giving homeless people a nice Christmas might be easier than you think! According to those in authority today, there are no homeless people. Everyone - and I mean everyone - has access to accommodation, even though that might be in a hostel, bed and breakfast accommodation, or whatever. Therefore anyone who is homeless, anyone sleeping rough, is deemed to be doing so by their own choice. Many charities who have in the past helped the homeless have had their grants cut because there is not supposed to be any need for them to meet. Although not running centres at Christmas we continue to support them, for example by providing deliveries of Christmas supplies. In addition, during the year we distribute toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors etc), new clothing and shoes to rough sleepers.
