Campaign Story
Hey everyone! WOW Hotel is a modern boutique hotel located in the heart of Georgetown, the central district for dining and nightlife in Penang. A stay at WOW Hotel affords you access to great bars, restaurants, museums and more! With an 8.5-star rating on Booking.com, WOW Hotel is highly related.
We only began our operations in September of 2019. Due to the unforeseen nature of the COVID-19 worldwide travel restrictions and Malaysia’s internal Movement Control Order, the tourism industry has beared the brunt of the economic crisis that slowly developed since the beginning of 2020. WOW Hotel specifically has been hit especially hard by these restrictions with 55% of our bookings for March being cancelled. Because of the drastic drop off in guests at our property, we have lost a major source of familial income.
With the high number of liabilities inherent with starting a new business, it is imperative that we are able to survive this period to have our business remain viable. Additionally, because we employ a diverse set of 10 employees from around Penang Island, we feel obligated to continue supporting our dedicated employees and their families.
