Wounded Warrior Needs Help for Kids

Update posted by Johns Care On Apr 03, 2013

Thank you all for the continued support and prayers. As some of you know Johns father passed away last week from terminal cancer. As we were finishing up with his funeral I received a call from the hospital asking me to return as soon as I can because of a change in Johns status. After returning to the hospital I learned that Johns condition had deteriated and the test ran showed very little brain activity. The doctor advised me that if I had any family that would like to visit now may be the time. After a long drawn out process and the help from Jake and his close friends in law enforcement we located Johns brother in Texas on the military base and notified him and he is flying in tonight 4/2/2013. They are in the process of getting organ donation set up and ready for after Josh (Johns Brother) arrives and we take John off life support. After numerous test the last 48 hours john is clinically brain dead. I know John has said in the past that he never would want to be kept alive by machines and I know he would be upset if we continued to keep him on life support. Its still very hard knowing that im going to make the decision to take him off of it but it would be his wish and choice. I know John will be in heaven with God smiling down on us and watching over the kids and I. I wanted to thank everyone who has helped in prayers, support, finances and even for the thoughts. We really have appreciated it all. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers and pray that we all get through this and help the kids understand. We love you all

God Bless

Hello all,

Well we were hoping to be able to let John come out of the coma this weekend but things have changed. Problems have developed and he is still in his coma. This weekend has been very stressful and depressing. As I sit here and watch the love of my life and my childrens father lay in bed in coma I often reflect on the past and all the funny things he has said or done just to try and get myself to smile. They arent giving a positive outlook or any time frames now and are keeping a very close eye on him. The kids are really struggling and just wanting daddy to be able to wake up. I try so hard to hold back the tears but I cant anymore. Im sorry for not being able to update this weekend until now but things have been hectic. Johns dad is in the hospital now and they are trying to ease his pain in his final days. So as you can tell its been depressing and stressful. Thanks again everyone for the love, prayers and all the help. We understand its a  bad economy and not everyone can donate but the ones who have and continue to try thank you and every penny helps.

God Bless

Cant wait to have him wake up and be able to see his kids. I know they are wanting to get a hug and kiss from Daddy. To the ones that have donated once again THANK YOU so much we really appreciate it. Things are getting tight and we are thankful for the few that have helped and continue to help. Thanks again so much

Hello all. Nothing has changed much today. John is still comatized and is still making progress in the meantime. His bleeding has not came back and all test are still good. Its been a very busy day though. Thanks to good friends for helping me today. I managed to get to go home for a little while and cook a home cooked meal for the kiddos. I did miss a ball practice but he understands and insists that daddy needs mommy beside him more right now. I teared up when he told me that. I have been so blessed with great kids and such a fighter for a husband. We would like to thank everyone for the continued prayers and support. We really do appreciate it. Please keep it all coming as we have a long road ahead of us. Also please pray for Johns father (Mark) as he was just diagnosed with Terminal cancer and is expected to only live maybe a month more. Mark has helped us when all this first happened with bills and spent his whole bank account for his son. Please pray for the whole family and any help or donations will be greatly appreciated still. We arent the kind to ask for a hand out or ask for help because we are usually the ones donating but right now we really do need any help and prayers.

God Bless

Hello all,

After a long night last night and some very tense and stressful times John is resting comfortable again. They did some more test and realized he had some more bleeding again. As of this last test it has stopped again. The kids are starting to ask a lot of questions and trying to understand this. It breaks my heart into so many pieces. They are used to there dad being there and making the sporting events, school plays and functions, and being home for dinner at night and cooking there favorite meals. Its been really rough not only on myself but more so on our children. John is a fighter though and we all know he will fight through this and be home with us soon. To the couple of people who have donated, once again thank you so much. Between the 2 donations, we paid for the kids lunch again this month at school and also helped us be able to eat at nights. We really apppreciate all and any help. Like we have stated before if you try to donate via paypal and it gives you a error message contacts us on here and we can send you a money request through paypal. We did get a email back from Gogetfunding today and they are checking into the problem. So if you would like to donate just email us on here please, and thanks again for all the love and support.

God Bless

Nothing really new to update except that John is still on life support and in a induced coma. They believe the combinations of his medicine and stress caused the brain bleed. However he is showing a little improvement today in his tests. The doctor has now bumped his life expectency to 60 percent from 35 percent.  Also would like to thank the couple of people who have donated so far to help my family out and mostly my kids. As it was posted earlier in a update, we are experiancing problems with the donations and paypal. For some reason, a few people who have tried to donate was given a error message. Paypal and GoGetFunding.com have been notified and we are waiting back on word from them. I have been told if you havent registered with Gogetfunding.com you may try that and then try to send the donation. IF you would like to donate, try to do it through paypal and if it does not work please contact us through a email/comment on here and we will help you out and have alternative options. We now have a option on the iphone to swipe a credit/debit card also. We can meet with you or manually put it in, or we can send you a invoice/payment thing through paypal as we did for a sweet donor today ( Thanks to Mike and his wife) Thank you all for the continued prayers and support. We feel them and are thankful for the ones who care!

God Bless

If you try and get a error message please write us a email here and we will send you a invoice via Paypal or try a different approach. Gogetfunding and Paypal both have been notified and are working on it. Thanks for all who care are and helping this good man and his family.

Just a quick update as everything has been really hectic the last few days. John was rushed in for emergency surgery yeasterday morning after complaining of severe head pain. He developed a head bleed and is now in a induced coma. He is stable and they believe the bleeding has stopped but they did have to drain it off his brain. Johns family is asking for prayers more then anything. John is a warrior and will fight this and get through it.  We are still asking for all and any help possible. And thanks to all that have helped!!! I will update as more information is available.

Well today has been a very long day. We have found out if we dont come up with atleast $2,000 very very soon we will have to find somewhere else to live. At this point it may be living in a homeless shelter with 3 kids because of not being able to put down a security deposit on a apartment. After hearing this John went down hill even more then he already was because of hearing he is going to have to endure another long and painful surgery. We know that God is on our side and will guide us through it all and help us understand. John is depressed because he is failing to provide for myself and our 3 children. Our life savings is now gone. We are struggling to put food on the table and if it wasnt for what family we have left, we would be under a bridge. But there comes a time when family is spent also and cant help anymore. Thats why we are turning to this site and hoping to get a little help. Between our few close friends and our little family, we have made it this far and we thank all of you. To the ones who come check our donation page out we thank you and hope you can donate and will. There is no donation to small or to big. Every dollar helps and we are very thankful and appreciative. More updates to come.

God Bless you all
