Would you like to see an opera in Arab language?

I'm Bahaa El Ansary, a composer and opera maker. Graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2019 with MA in Opera Making & Writing. I had been moving between European cities for a while and now as I'm back and based in Cairo. I have a big dream about making a new genre in the form of opera. Using, not only Arabic libretto, but also, working on a new musical/operatic language to fit with the language and the dramaturgy of it.

I'm starting an opera company to commission and produce new operas in Arab language. Commissioning composers to working with operatic & non-operatic voices; to produce new musical style to fit with the Arabic language and the form of opera.

As the costs of opera production is so huge, I'm going to depend on funding institutions to fund the productions' cost, but in parallel to this, there is a huge amount of on-going costs to run the company and non-production activities; that includes salaries for the crew, renting/buying important equipments and also managing educational workshops to train librettists, opera directors, production crew and singers.

The purpose of this crowdfunding is to cover these ongoing costs and move forward with the company in a quick rate.
