Hello to all the kind souls out there, I'm Deanno..this is a story about this elderly women known as Che Munah...I should say she's about in her late 80s or early 90s. We discovered her in a popular market in Kota Bahru Kelantan Malaysia. She can be found selling packets of processed tamarind in one corner of the market. I almost burst into tears upon listening to her story. She won't go around asking people to buy her stuff, instead she sits on the floor and gave the most sincere smile to passing humans, hoping that they will buy her trade. When asked whether she has eaten anything for the day, with a smile, she said she haven't eaten anything yet...oh Allah...i was shocked. The most heart-wrenching moment was when she was offered food, and the ONLY thing that she asked for is only plain white rice with 'budu'(a local delicacies consisting of fermented anchovies)...not even fish, meat, chicken or vegetable dishes. We interviewed her for quite sometime, and we got to know she will take the bus every morning to the market to sell her stuff, and even the bus driver will never take any fares from her (May God bless the driver). She's living alone after her husband passed away and they don't have any children. We offered her a ride home, but before that we bought some groceries for her daily needs. Upon reaching her home, I almost burst out into tears when we see the conditions of her home. Bare cement flooring, a plastic mat layered with cardboard boxes and a worn-out gunny sack as her only blanket. The condition in the kitchen even worst. It makes me realised that most of us takes thing for granted in our daily lives. We sat down for a while listening to her stories, not even once she sighed about her living conditions or what she went through in life. When we were about to take our leave, she pat me on the back and told me something, that i will remember for life..."..son, no matter how hard your life is, don't steal..., please drive safely..". If only i have that much money, i will definitely built a proper home for her, with electricity and water supply and live like a normal elderly would, stay home and retired. I urge all kind souls out there to help me raise fund to built a proper home for her and maybe I will just figure out how we can generate monthly income for her. But for now, my main concern is just to give her a place to call home and a proper bed she can sleep on. Please, join me in giving aid to this poor lady. I'll be grateful if we can raise the kind of fund for her. I would like to thank all the donors out there in advance, only God will repay your kindness, if not here, in the afterlife...inshaAllah...
