World Taekwondo Championships

Fayez Hanafi was just 7years old when he and his family were forced to flee the war in Syria. They arrived in Estonia and started their new lives in a country where everything was new and different. Fayez quickly fell in love with Estonia and the young talented boy adapted to life at school, new friends and joined our Taekwondo classes. Our association is very involved in supporting families in need and refugees, making them feel comfortable and part of Estonian culture. After only a few months of practice, Fayez proved he was a great fit for our program. He started to participate in competitions and win medals. Through these competitions, he gained experience and confidence. He won Estonian Taekwondo Championships four times and was selected to train with the Estonian National team. Sadly, because of his status, he can't officially represent Estonia and as such, cannot benefit from any support. He can, however, compete on the Refugee Taekwondo Team if he pays the competition fees himself.

This is financially not possible for his family.

The competition costs are 1600 - all included. That means it is 1600 for competition fees, air tickets, accommodation for 5 nights in the event hotel, and meals.

Fayez and his abilities have inspired many people and fellow students. He is hard working, committed and passionate about Taekwondo and the Estonian Taekwondo team. His dream is to take part in the Junior World Championships in Bulgaria in August, 2022 and I am asking, on his behalf, for donations to make this dream a reality.
